thrifty finds
i found mostly clothes this week, but i found some great old navy jeans for myself that have barely been used. luckily i knew the people having the yard sale, so they let me use the bathroom to try them on or else i might not have taken the gamble.

All I want for Christmas are my two brass deer!
So, I took my usual trip to the DI, but returned home with disappointment. Let me explain I have been on the lookout for a pair of brass deer. A few years ago I had seen a set of shiny silver deer in the potterybarn catalog and was in love, so I thought I can make those out of the old brass deer, I can just spray paint them silver. So, as I walk up to the check out counter at the DI (I usually try not to look at other people's carts) but I couldn't help but spot a pair of brass deer (just like these)in this lady's cart. I asked the lady if there were anymore and she responded "no, I'm sorry" I responded politely but lying through my teeth "that's okay" I wanted to say that's okay I have only been looking for some for over a year now. I shouldn't be hostile towards her she was nice, but she found my deer that I have been looking for! So, I guess I'll keep looking. I guess I could splurge and buy the ones off ebay, but I can't bring myself to pay that much when I know I can get them at the DI for $2! Here is what I did find at the DI:

Shoes $1 a pair, napkin holder $1.50, toilet paper holder $1.50

I'm not sure what I am going to do with this, but I know its got potential $2.00.

Here are some of my thrift finds over the past few weeks. I promise I'll post some after photos of some of the finds.
I thought this would be cute to put some pumpkins on. Black thing? .75 cents
I found the cute tea set in the middle for $2, far left .50 cents, far right $1. I plan displaying these in my hutch as soon as I get it painted.
Cute red lanterns $5 each.
I found these two gap items at a yard sale $2 each! Yep that stinkin cute sherpa gap coat was $2. It had some spots on it that I wondered if I'd be able to get out but they came out great, it looks brand new now.
Vases .75 cents each, glass thing (I have plans for it stay tuned) .50 cents, mail divider $2
Here is a closer look
Jumpers were $3 each, cardigan was $2
Some cute pillow cases for pillow case dresses, .50 cents each, vintage fabric $2 I'm thinking I'll make an apron out of it.
I didn't get these recently but I thought I would share a few of my favorite DI finds for Mylee. These were all $2 each. (far right is a denim gap jumper)

Jacket $3, dress $2 both are old navy
ruffled skirt $2, osh kosh bgosh overalls $2
left to right gap corduroy pants $2, velvet pants $2, gap denim pants $3
can you believe how cute those pink boots are, especially for $2! red gap boots $1, pink fuzzy boots $1
Mary jane's $1, black shoes $1, sandals $1 (don't worry I bought both shoes I just couldn't find the other one for the picture)
I love looking for such great buys for Mylee. You can find some cute clothes for kids at DI! I don't find these every time I go, but every once in a while some good stuff will show up.

Thrift finds
These are most of my thrift finds over the last couple of weeks from garage sales and DI. I should let you know that I have a little obsession with thrifting.
I got these frames at DI for $1.50 a piece a little more than I normally would pay but I like the shape and I've got an idea for them for Mylee's room.

Metal frame .10 cents, ceramic thing .25 cents, cute shower rings $1.

The clock was $2 but she gave it to me for $1. Doesn't it fit in perfect with Mylee's room? I was going to make a clock but heck for a $1, I think it fits in great. The best part is I don't have to paint it.
I got these at DI the toy was $1, the circus painting was $1.50, the book was .25 cents. I love the illustrations in it. One day when I have a playroom I want to decorate it with vintage toys, books, items, etc. And I want to use bright colors and I thought these would go great with that theme.
I got these clothes at a garage sale for .25 cents each. Can you believe she sold me that cute jean jacket for .25 cents?
Same garage sale, same price but the yellow shrug is esprit, the shirt is baby gap and the pants still had a price tag on it!
This is Mylee sporting her sandals that I got at DI for $1. I thought they went perfectly with her children's place capris ($1 DI)

I was super excited about this find. I have been waiting all summer for end of summer clearance patio furniture for our front porch when I came across these wicker chairs for sale in the paper. Both for $25! I like them better than anything I've seen in the stores lately. White on white? I think they need a new outfit. Red or black?
I decided black is so classic with white. I'll add a pop of color with cushions. How do you like my painting studio? Stay tuned for the finished project.
