I love Kmart clearance!

I love Kmart clearance. That is about all I buy there but they really can have some great things on clearance. Today they had an extra 40% off clearance apparel. Mylee doesn't need any more clothes but I couldn't pass these up.

The top was $.90, the ruffled dress was $3. I love that dress. White doesn't scare me, bleach does wonders.

The jean jacket was $3.60 and the top was $2.80. Did I mention that I love Kmart clearance?

Thrift finds

These are most of my thrift finds over the last couple of weeks from garage sales and DI. I should let you know that I have a little obsession with thrifting.

I got these frames at DI for $1.50 a piece a little more than I normally would pay but I like the shape and I've got an idea for them for Mylee's room.

Metal frame .10 cents, ceramic thing .25 cents, cute shower rings $1.

The clock was $2 but she gave it to me for $1. Doesn't it fit in perfect with Mylee's room? I was going to make a clock but heck for a $1, I think it fits in great. The best part is I don't have to paint it.
I got these at DI the toy was $1, the circus painting was $1.50, the book was .25 cents. I love the illustrations in it. One day when I have a playroom I want to decorate it with vintage toys, books, items, etc. And I want to use bright colors and I thought these would go great with that theme.

I got these clothes at a garage sale for .25 cents each. Can you believe she sold me that cute jean jacket for .25 cents?
Same garage sale, same price but the yellow shrug is esprit, the shirt is baby gap and the pants still had a price tag on it!
This is Mylee sporting her sandals that I got at DI for $1. I thought they went perfectly with her children's place capris ($1 DI)

I was super excited about this find. I have been waiting all summer for end of summer clearance patio furniture for our front porch when I came across these wicker chairs for sale in the paper. Both for $25! I like them better than anything I've seen in the stores lately. White on white? I think they need a new outfit. Red or black?
I decided black is so classic with white. I'll add a pop of color with cushions. How do you like my painting studio? Stay tuned for the finished project.

LOVE these shoes!

I want all of these shoes. For some reason I am really into colored shoes right now. I think they are so fun and they can really make an outfit pop!

I've been on the lookout for some red shoes and came across these cute ones. I love slingbacks. Payless is having buy one get one half off. These little red shoes are on sale for $17.99.
I am also loving the grey wedge with an adorable ruffle and bow. I think wedges are so great. I feel a lot more confident walking in a wedge than a heel. Found at Payless for $24.99.
I am loving the orange, they would be great for fall. The heel scares me a little, I definitely wouldn't be doing my grocery shopping in these. Found at Payless for $19.99. The heel looks very do-able on these cute little red mary jane's. Found at Target for $19.99.
These yellow ones are kind of funky but I like them, I think the ruffle is adorable. That yellow would make an outfit pop for sure! Found at Target for $19.99

Beef and broccoli stir fry

I made this for dinner tonight and thought it was tasty. I didn't have lemon juice so I omitted that and it still tasted good. I loved how quick and easy it was to make!

Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients:
½ c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 clove minced garlic
1 tsp. black pepper
2 Tbsp. vegetabel oil
2 lb. top sirloin, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 medium heads broccoli
2 tsp. grated fresh ginger root or 1/4 tsp. ground ginger

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, lemon juice, cornstarch, brown sugar, garlic and pepper. Set aside. Heat 1 Tbsp. veg. oil in a large skillet or wok over med-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until almost cooked through, about 2 mins. Transfer beef to a plate and cover to keep warm. Heat remaining oil in skillet. Add onion and stir-fry for 5 mins. Cut broccoli into florets (should yield about 4 cups) and add to skillet with ½ c. water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 3 mins. Return beef to skillet with soy sauce mixture; add ginger. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens, about 2 mins. Serve hot over rice. Serves 6
