Kitchen room redo update

the kitchen is coming along slowly but surely. painting the cabinets is going to take a long time, but i am working on them. i thought i would show a few projects that i have done.

this rooster was given to me, here is the before

i had this magnetic board for a while but i had tired of it so...

i spray painted the metal with chalkboard paint and painted the trim white

i've wanted to make a chalkboard for awhile now but i couldn't find a frame that i liked and then it hit me that i could use my old magnetic board. the best part is it's magnetic too. i got that clock at k-mart on clearance for $12. i finally got around to sewing my curtains for the dining area. they are just a dropcloth that i cut in half and sewed. the dropcloth was $10! that makes for some really inexpensive curtains!

i should have taken the before picture but the two plates ( on top and bottom) were some that i bought at walmart a long time ago. they had a pattern on them so i just spraypainted them dove white. the middle plate is from the thrift store probably a $1.00.

i finally painted the hutch! but its not finished i need to paint the back. i put one coat of black on and then felt like it was too much black. i think i will paint the back either the same color as the walls or put fabric over it. what do you think? if you want to see the before, go here.

Spray paint party!

I didn't know about the spray paint party over at Thrifty Decor Chick. I wasn't really prepared but I'll show you a few things around the house that I have spray painted. Sorry no before pics, you'll just have to use your imagination.

I got this frame at the thrift store and spray painted it white, put some scrapbook paper for the background and placed a doile that a great, great grandma crochet for little ms. m.

this frame is another thrift store find. it was a brassy, gold color and i spray painted it pink (ballet slipper by Krylon to be exact). i think i might put a silouette in it but for now it hangs like this on the wall.

i spray painted the shelf white (was wood), the white bunny was brown, the pink chair was wood, and that frame was gold. i just need to spray paint the brass frame but don't know what color, any suggestions?

i bought most of these frames at the thrift store, they were wood. i just printed that "J" and other saying off of my computer and framed them. super easy and quick project. don't look too close i haven't dusted them off yet.

the candlesticks (minus the candles) on the left are spray painted. i was going for a super glossy silver look, anyone know of good spray paint that will give me a chrome silver look?

i have so many things that are a screaming for a coat of spray paint, but i am waiting for more summer like weather. spring weather in utah consists of lots of wind, sunshine one minute and snow the next so until the weather gets to be a little more consistent you'll just have to check back and see what else is going to get a coat of spray paint!

Here is my picture frame I got at the thrift store for $1. It was brand new with the price sticker of $14.99! I know so great, right? Here is how it has been for the last year or so but I thought it was time to change out the picture so....
Here it is after. I decided to give the black and white picture a little umph by glueing some scrapbook paper to this mat. Sorry for the bad pictures, new camera is on my wish list. The room is coming along, I have managed to spray paint some accessories for the room redo so hopefully I will have some more pictures to show how the progress is coming along.

You just want to squeeze those cheeks don't you?

Wicker chair makeover

I've had them done for a while but I kept forgetting to take a picture. I also need to spray another coat on the chair on the right. (just don't look too close) Not bad for $25 for both.
